Sedici Chamber Choir
James set up the Sedici Chamber Choir during his final year at music college in Birmingham, as his first experience of conducting a choir. The members were formed from associates at the college and local friends from the National Youth Choir. During the one and only year that it was active, Sedici gave just two performances - recorded for posterity - and formed the basis for part of James' BMus (Hons) course.
Here is the programme from the second of those two performances. It was adjudicated by David Saint (professor of organ at he Birmingham Conservatoire) and an external adjudicator, and the module was passed to count towards James' final degree mark, even though no official course in choral conducting existed at the Conservatoire at the time.
